Casing actuator with a pre-load structure
It enables handling tension that is not originally provided by the piezo actuator.
Casing the piezo ceramic stack generally protects the main body from mechanical shocks and minimizes the influence of the surrounding environment. In a typical piezo actuator stack, a constant force pushing the stack (known as preload) is required, and this mechanism is incorporated within the casing. This allows for the handling of tension, which is not inherently present in piezo actuators, enabling dynamic operation.
